A terribly poor qaulity & over-saturated pic I took on my iPhone but its all I have! Aagghhhh! I rarely let art go without scanning/photographing properly first. Doh!
Anyway, a while back I wrote about a fundraiser for Heartkids to which I contributed a gift voucher for art. The man who won my auction gift voucher made contact almost immediately and commissioned me to make a family portrait of babushkas for his wifes birthday.
Cue a collective 'Awwww how sweet!'
So this is the piece I made to specification for him, his wife, their 2 boys and daughter. He was very pleased with the end result and I hope the wife got a nice surprise on her birthday. Sweet husband.
So there you go.
My painting raised $210 for Heartkids and you can read more about the auction here.
For new visitors to my blog, Heartkids is our chosen family charity.
Background: You can see our little heartkid Chelsea is one of the faces on Heartkids Australia's page promoting Cuppa For Heartkids right now. See her beaming smile as she proudly shows off her zipper at 9months after her second open heart surgery? She's now 3 and running around like you wouldn't believe. Smiley, cheeky & naughty. Love love love her spirit!
You can read her humble beginnings on Heartkids Australia website, 3rd story down.
I'll be back in a fortnight with a special fundraiser of my own for CUPPA FOR HEARTKIDS for the last fortnight in September. If you like TEA [or my artwork], I suggest you come back and visit soon!
