Just maybe, you might recall my humble beginnings with crochet?
Well I can't say I've advanced my skill very much at all. Its a been a slow process.
But have mastered the most basic of granny squares and decided that I would make a whole blanket with exactly the same square. If there's one thing I learned doing visual arts at uni, is that repitition of even something a bit odd or boring, can make an unexpected & surprisingly lovely display.
Even though I have bought some wonderful crochet books [here] for the moment, I'm concentrating just on the one square.
So I press on. Square after coloured square I go.
Adding to my rainbow spectrum of colours.
I'm not exactly sure of how many I will need or how I will place my squares. My teacher at E for Ethel where I have done a few classes suggested mapping the colours out on an excel spreadsheet! Such a good idea. So I had a little play. But I think I'll change it around 10 times before I settle on something.
I have just joined Ravelry too so I hope to find some good inspiration there. Are you on there? I am currently without Ravelry friends. Awwwww.
Make my day & befriend me! hehe! I am 'messyMissKate'.
