Hello there! Did you notice my new banner? I've been messing a round a bit behind the scenes to freshen things up a bit on my blog. I have lots more tweaking I want to do but I'm happy with the banner bit for now.
And I've got new business cards too! Yes, yes I do! A little extension on my Blog banner...
I've really enjoyed messing about mixing up my paintings with my digital scribbles to make this hybrid work. I've been a teensy bit scared to decide upon my job title & in the end just whacked all the things I am doing & want to pursue career wise on my business card. It still feels weird to this day telling people I'm an artist. Unless I'm some fine art formally trained mid-century painter, I feel like I am lying through my teeth. But I do know that these days, things are different. Art comes in all shapes & sizes, methods & themes. My art isn't intended to be serious, its lighthearted, whimsical, childlike. But its what spills out of me.
The dictionary says this:
Artist - a person who produces paintings or drawings as a profession or a hobby.
So there you have it. Its exactly what I do. Maybe I don't need to feel so fraudulent afterall.
In other news, I want to slowly get things up & running at Society6 and more importantly [to me] get some pattern designs into my Spoonflower shop. So I've been messing with patterns & I've had a few designs printed out onto A3 paper so that I can preview them myself. Spoonflower offers not only fabric but wallpaper, giftwrap & wall decals so I'm pretty excited about the possibility of getting some of my designs onto those things.
Here's a few housy designs I played with the other week.
I think thats all for today. Thanks for visiting!
