Interupting my overseas holiday posts to bring you a little post on my handbag shopping treats!
Not really being a clothes person [always disatisfied with how everything fits/looks], handbags & bags in general, are my thing. Ok and stationery & anything arty.
So, apart from a few trinkets here & there, this is what I spent pretty much ALL of my holiday pocket money on. And they were ALL either cheap [as in under $20 OR on sale]. Firstly my London bag purchase.....
Couldn't leave England without nabbing this little Cath Kidston number. I was nearly going to splurge & buy a big floral handbag but opted at the last minute for a sensible oilcloth bag that I can take shopping or carry around my usual multitudes of paperwork, diaries & notebooks.
My little brother Mike bought this Union Jack number from Camden Markets for me for Christmas. He knew I wanted it & I'm overjoyed at his sneakiness to get it for me. LOVE IT.
This is just a shopping tote from when I had to dash into Courchevel to get a few Kris Kringle presents. I remembered to take my purse & Buddy, but forgot a carry bag. Doh. Just had to buy something & this leaves me with another cute shopping tote & wonderful snowy French Alps memories.
OK, so I saw this billboard in a Paris metro station with this girl wearing amazing clothes. The kinda clothes I would love to design myself with masses of colour, embroidery, messiness & in your face happiness. The brand was Desigual & I instantly fell in love. I simply HAD TO find a store. Which I did in Paris & everything was on sale - up to 50% off. So I went crazy.
This one above, super cute, suitable for school run. You can fill it right to top & wear it like picture below or just keep the essentials: keys, purse, phone & lipgloss & then fold the top over like pic above.
And this BELOW, also bought in Desigual Paris. This one is a much fuller proper handbag with a multitude of pockets. It has both short handles & adjustable long strap. Its fabulous & fits EVERYTHING I could need & more.
So then I travel to Brussels and as we were out eating breakfast one morning, I spy a Desigual store right across the gorgeous cute cobbled road. How convenient. Big sale on. So off I go, ready to chomp through some more of my pocket money.
This one is awesome, its also a fold over & I love to wear it mostly like that. But while we were away & needing extra storage space, it was fabulous to be able to fill this big pillowcase of a bag full with whatever I needed to carry for the day. I think this one is possibly my fave. Although sssh, don't read that out loud as I don't want to hurt my other bags feelings.
I really didn't need this extra little satchel below but I got carried away with the moment & the sale & it was pretty cheap so I just got it. Its actually a cool sized sack bag which fits my ipad + essentials.
Ok, this is a shopping tote we got for free at Efteling where the kids spent the rest of their holiday pocket money. Its a poor picture, sorry about that. But anyway, I loved the design so thought I'd share it here too.
And lastly, my 2 Euro last minute splash out bag, just a crappy plastic tote with zipper & handles that holds alot of stuff. Of course I love it because of all the beautiful blue & white Holland design. So pretty.
So yes I will now look quite the posh tosser indeed with all my fancy international tote bags when I am wearing my very uninspiring jeans & black tops, shopping for groceries at Coles.
At least I will also have any number of cute kickass Desigual handbags over my shoulder as I waltz around the shops too. Ooh la la!
What are you a sucker for? Handbags? Shoes? I know if you visit here, its stationery right?
