I'm doing a bootcamp for artists - how awesome is that? This week we worked on an editorial piece on mediatation for people who don't meditate. These type of illustrations might appear in a lifestyle magazine or in the health / lifestyle section of a newspaper. Its illustration work that before I starting doing courses last year, I would have never thought about.
I didn't have much time to work on my submission this week so I had to pull it together today. I went for a Stepford Wives angle. I wouldn't have thought they were a 'type' to be in tune with their earthly selves & at one with nature & meditation. Perhaps they are. Anyway, I needed a starting point and thats what I went with.
I also enjoyed making a new loose floral pattern for the girls dress. Its nice to come away from a piece with a few new textures or patterns that I have created that I can add to my collection for future use.
Tomorrow brings a fresh new week and I have 2 deadlines looming. Not sure how I will go with my poor mum in a rehabilitation centre for the terrible back trouble she has been having, plus Charlottes birthday to organise on the weekend, umpteen appointments, and a pile of graphics work to do. But we'll see. I'm usually ok at pulling rabbits out of hats at the very last minute. Wish me luck!
