and enjoy taking pics of my growing girls and our life. my sister bought her first dslr this year and in our natural way of inspiring & exciting each other to grow our passions, we have set up a little venture together.
even though we are learning as we go, we think we can offer a little something to family & friends who are unhappy with their own pics but not able to afford professional services.

girls are such emotional creatures are they not?
and some days my house is full of pouting and little micro dramas. oh what a glimpse into '15 years time' i am getting...
i do have some time to figure out how to handle it but i don't think it would be remiss of me to start collecting advice & potential strategies.
any advice from mums of multiple teenage daughters out there will be gratefully accepted and kept on file.

my littlest by 2 minutes. she missed out on a pic update last post, so here is my darling chelsea.
her wings, headband/hat, shoe, dress ups fettish is consuming her days right now.
her fave shoes are either rubber boots, gorgeous cute pink floral ones OR
any kind of high heels or tap shoes - very good for clip-clopping around.
she has mastered the art of conversation and loves to talk. there is even the odd proper word
popped into long gobbledegook sentences, along with lots of nodding and hand gestures.
she is very interesting indeed. her sense of humour is blossoming and she often has us all in
hysterics with her funny faces and little actions.
chicken, can't believe you and your sister will be 2 in january. amazing.

i have wanted one of these forever and have finally saved up for it. it arrived yesterday!
once i am used to it, it will be most useful for my graphics [day job] and another little project i have coming up, soon to be available [as if i didn't have enough going on, just can't sit still!]...
this babushka canvas, by the way, sits above my art desk. i love text in artwork [particularly scrolly words] and this one, i just couldn't let go. it might get made into a print soon, who knows? i will try to do some more like this for my shop soonish.
and in other life business....
still lots going on here behind the scenes not to mention busy busy with kids in daylight. summer swimming lessons have returned and the girls all going 'swimmingly!'
georgia has moved up 2 grades just this season but she is too little to physically move to another lane in the pool as she can't reach the water level [my sweet little tiny pea] so they are keeping her in her current class and just extending her skills.
charlotte is doing very well in kindy class, she's a strong and athletic type girl although her listening skills are yet to be refined! she loves jumping in at the end of class especially - of course, who wouldn't?
amelia [below] is going great guns in water babies and is showing real potential as another little future swimmer. she's very strong and technique even at the baby stage is looking pretty good.
chelsea, considering, is really coming along well and she thoroughly enjoys her class. she spends the entire half hour crying when it is amelia's turn. so heart breaking [excuse the pun] to see her so passionate about her swimming and yet she just has to wait her turn! her kicking is coming along quite well considering she didn't walk until nearly 18 mths. her roly poly's, well, periodically ok! enthusiasm A++, and she is getting some much needed upper body strength learning to climb out of the pool herself. she really is remarkable. [i'll post a new pic of chels soonish. i had just bought a new backdrop and the other 3 were awake when i took these shots, chels was not!]
i am sure i have so many other things to record, just about million things happen here each day, but who can remember? i have started doing a little brain training on my daughters nintendo ds which takes about 10mins each day. i'm hoping to get my brain working at age 20 again [optimum apparently]. heck, i'd be happy if my brain was working at its proper age - 38! unfortunately it looks like i have lost many many brain cells bearing children as my brain is supposedly now 47!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh geez?!!
what else..... my husbands work hours are increasing which is good for the budget but we'll all miss his occasional shift off.
my charlotte has just been accepted into her school for pre-entry next term, followed by pre-school. unbelievable, some days i'll have just 2 kids at home!! i wonder what i will be able to accomplish if they continue to have an afternoon nap then? maybe i'll just nap too!

lots happening here resulting in a very neglectful blog owner.
a quickie....
georgia had her pre-school photos this week and picked out this top [above] with her fave rip curl jeans, speshly for her photos. we discussed trying to keep the top clean before photos and thought it best she wear her jacket up until the photos session, then take it off for the photo. when she came home from school she was a little worried that she had forgotten to take her jacket off until the very last photo. she was just so cute and concerned. what a beautiful soul she is, my georgia. such a good girl and so very conscientious about school.
anyway, here she is in her chosen white top, captured @ home, same day, just in case the white top photo does not make it into her pre-school photo album! you look beautiful my sweet georgia. and can you stop growing now please, it seems like yesterday when you were my brand new baby and now you are big sister to 3. amazing. xo
in other news....
lots of babushka canvases in production right now, some prints too! only one original left in shop right now but hopefully a few more next week.
have several commissions on the go too which is also fun.

the last couple of months has been pretty busy and i've neglected my little life recording blog. we've had quite a bit of sickness, lots of events and i've had lots of work on. so here's a little catch up in pictures. my girls are growing up way too fast!!!!!!!!!
now all four of them want art desk time. georgia now 'needs' to create often and is very serious about her drawing. charlotte is happy to join with georgia and is showing progress with her pictures. we now have a busy box with all sorts of recyclables. the girls are loving building all sorts of structures with a zillion pieces of sticky tape.
chelsea, [above pic, far left] is happy to be with her sisters and do some drawing but gets bored pretty quickly and then starts eating crayons!
amelia [below] however, is developing a real passion for drawing too. she holds her crayons and pencils quite well and is getting quite intensive with her scribbles.
she'll colour for quite a while before climbing up onto the desk and get wild raining pencils from the desk onto the floor! so i gotta supervise these art sessions extra close or i'll end up missing some of those crayons & pencils on the floor which will be collected by little hands later and then used for wall art around the house. we have several exhibits currently showing in one of the bedrooms and the stair well! great!
dress ups continue to be a great hit in our house. the twins are right into it too.
here, george & charlie are all dressed for a picnic at the beach, so i am told.
when george is at school, charlotte is often the instigator of dress ups with the twins and always up for some photos.

loving that cheeky chels grin [above] that is emerging. she is developing a great personality. full of spirit and 'rascallyness!' yes, that really IS a word!
chels is known around these parts as our 'little clothes stealer & dresser.' at every opportunity, if there's any clothing lying around, she grabs them and dresses herself. i have this terrible habit of going to bed with socks on, then kicking them off onto the floor, during the night. i often forget to pick them up first thing so granted, most mornings pre-shower [all the girls shower now] she's walking around wearing my socks, which on her look like big bumfly sock boots, cute. her other fave bits of clothing are the big girls knickers, she's always pinching those to wear over her track pants, or on her head - as you do...
she's always cracking us all up, our chels!
amelia [above] can now climb onto things and play with light switches. loves that she is gaining all sorts of control around here. she can also move furniture close to the piano and climb on top of the piano. can you believe that? how did i get 4 climbing daughters?????????

twins are loving wiggles, peppa pig and charlie & lola. they have lots of words now and are forever chatting. "mumma, mummy, daddy, dadda, georgia, char char, no [along with foot stomp!], pay [for 'play'], more, ta [for 'thank you'], bopple [for beloved 'bottle'], ball, cheese, cheese [this time for 'cheers' as they clink their glasses together - oh no, what have we created?], peppa, lola and more....
twins pic [above] also snapped by my sister. yes bad bad bad, twins way too close to tv. well jane was babysitting for me while i ducked out to the art shop so it is entirely her fault. that would never happen when they are in my care [cough cough].

I've had such a great response to my heartkids cuppa for kids fundraiser that i decided to get more prints printed! i have now listed them in my etsy store for internationals. australians can email me direct [reduced postage].
i held my 'cuppa for kids' event at my house last week for a bunch of local lovely Adelaidian ladies. some nice chat, food & coffee and all received a happy heart babushka print.
some wonderful dollars has been raised for heartkids, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and more coming with future print sales too.
