nah, just a fundraiser for heartkids [ikea are the major sponsor in SA], held a few weeks back.

happy heart babushka + cuppa for kids...

 

I've had such a great response to my heartkids cuppa for kids fundraiser that i decided to get more prints printed!  i have now listed them in my etsy store for internationals.  australians can email me direct [reduced postage].

i held my 'cuppa for kids' event at my house last week for a bunch of local lovely Adelaidian ladies.  some nice chat, food & coffee and all received a happy heart babushka print.

some wonderful dollars has been raised for heartkids, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and more coming with future print sales too.

we need YOUR help!!!!

 

Jeff and I are entering the Adelaide City to Bay 3km walk along with all our girlies in their double prams in order to raise very much needed funds for HEARTKIDS!  - A charity of course very close to our hearts!  

If you are a recent visitor here, you may not have followed our journey with our littlest daughter, Chelsea, through her first traumatic year of life with 2 open heart surgeries and a multitude of complications.

This year’s City to Bay Fun Run is giving our heart kids, their families, friends and colleagues the chance to get “on your marks for little hearts" in support of HeartKids SA. We are proud to be raising the much needed funds and awareness for the brave infants, children and teens who are affected by Childhood Heart Disease, like Chelsea. 

A phenomenal 2-3 South Australian families are required to travel to Melbourne each week for their child to receive life saving surgery, which often causes a huge financial burden on them. Please help us reach our goal to raise funds for research, the Travel Assistance Fund, playgroups, teen camps, and allowing us to offer a Family Support Co-ordinator for our families, just like ours!

making, kids, fundraiser update, glasses...

making:

playing with lots of things at the moment and having a great time.  i am hopefully going to have some things to share in my etsy and cafe press shops before too long.  now, it may take me into the new year as my pockets of productive time, whilst regular, are short. but we shall see how quick i can move on this.  lots of collage, scribbly images of birdy type things and other girly delights....  all my faves.  

chelsea: 

has popped 3 top teeth and the 4th is one its way.  she no longer gets wrapped for bed after much protesting.  oh no! how sad! does that technically mean she's not a baby anymore?  at nearly 11 months, i have been able to wrap her the longest out of the 4.  finally making attempts to sit upright on the floor herself but not able to do so for more than a few seconds, even propped with pillows and cushions.  poor little darling, she really likes it though.  she must get so frustrated sometimes.

amelia: 

also no bedtime wrapping, stopped a few weeks before chelsea.  sleeping in very own cot in her very own bedroom now.  such a big girl and sleeping pretty well.  definitely self settling which is good.  still a few night time feeds though, which she does herself.  crawling everywhere, getting into everything, trying to climb whatever she can.  keeping me on my toes!

charlotte: 

starting to get into drawing more, hasn't been too interested in the past for more than a couple of minutes.  now does smiley faces.  still loves copying everything georgia does and quite defiant with us about doing everything herself.  oh those 'two's!!!'

georgia:  

really into showing me her 'dance moves' at every opportunity.  'hey look at this move mum!'  well i tell you i have never seen such fancy shmancy moves such as these little numbers!

scrapbooking fundraiser went well...

a lovely casual day with a bunch of ladies who went home with goody bags, lots of raffle prizes, full tummies and a little bit of scrapbooking under their belt too!

money still coming in, but several hundred dollars raised which i am sure heartkids will really appreciate.  thank you again to our sponsors crafty cat,  blue bazaar, naomi elliott [kaszazz consultant], karens scrappin kupboard and kim archer @ home for their generous donations of give-aways, prizes and make 'n takes.  a sister event was also held in kadina so some good money will be reaching heartkids soon.

me:

i need glasses.  i chose them today.  a cheap pair of D&G's, well the cheapest pair of frames i could find that i think suit my face.  we shall see.  i think this is the pair i chose but i could be completely mistaken.  100's of pairs tried on.....  odd thing about choosing frames when you are visually impaired, you can't actually tell whether or not they look any good, can you? luckily i'm not actually too badly impaired.

Adelaide scrapbooking fundraiser for HEARTKIDS

well here it is...  a friend and i decided we wanted to host a scrapbooking day here in adelaide about a year ago as we don't have much of that sort of thing here.  its always hard for all the people in the adelaide scrapbooking community to catch up with friends they have met at various classes & fairs over the years when everyone is so busy all the time. 

i don't think my twins were even conceived at the time we first had discussions about this scrapbooking 'get together' and little did i know that this day would eventually hold so much importance for my family.  and it really does. 

we are not only hoping our adelaide scrapbooking friends and their friends and some new friends will join us for a great day of scrapbooking, but we hope to raise some important dollars for HEARTKIDS.  Heartkids is a fantastic organization supporting families with 'heartkids' just like my chelsea blossom.  so here are the details my friends...  i really hope you can join us for a day out of the house for some genuine scrapping time!  

we are also looking for some commercial sponsors so if you want more details of the little snippets of help that scrapbooking businesses might be able to help us with, please email me for more details.
