And how appropriate to be doing this list today as the cooler weather & a spot of rain here & there, has hit Adelaide! We may still have some warm Autumn days to come but the cooler weather is also moving in too.
I love Autumn! And I love feeling cosy! There isn't any place on earth I would rather be than at home with my peeps being cosy. Yes of course I love to visit places, but the feel of returning to my home is the feeling I cherish best.
I've still a couple to catch up on so I will get to those over the next coupla weeks.
This week I used my Listography app on my iPad to create my list.
To a large extent my life is the same everyday but there is always something different going on so its not as monotonous as it seems. Sometimes its more so, sometimes there is huge excitement. Mix in 7 personalities and its always interesting & challenging.
I know I'm very lucky to do this gig and I know raising 5 citizens of the world IS important and I do take it seriously but of course we all laugh as much as we can too - it makes it all rosy.
Somehow getting organised for my big girls to go back to school, sending the twins back to kindy for 2 terms then onto school in term 3, felt just a bit more complicated than the start of last year. Definitely more complicated than the year before.
Obviously when school hits, there's uniforms to look after, a huge amount of lunch prep, after school snacks, where to store bags & stuff, managing homework, keeping track of special dates during term etc. But even before then there is new shoes to get, haircuts, medical checks and psyching up ready for the craziness to begin.
I find during term time I lose myself a bit. The weeks rush past quickly but each day is so intensive & busy and I start forgetting which day is library day & when I need to make sure they are wearing their sports uniforms [which also had to be ordered... a brand new uniform this year]. A pretty organised person myself, being in charge of every detail for a bunch of little ones is like an explosion of responsibility. Thank goodness Miss Georgia Poppy is my wingman & keeps the smaller ones in check. And Miss Charlotte Daisy is sliding into windman role #2 and loves reading our checklist by the door each morning so we don't leave without forgetting hats or something.
I'm using Penultimate on iPad for this list. Awesome. If you don't use Evernote, maybe you might wanna check it out, its web & app based & all syncs beautifully. I use to contain my research notes/links, plans & ideas + it syncs perfectly with Penultimate too so my scribbles, scrawls & digi drawings can all linked in nicely together. Coolio man.
Most of these were fairly popular I'm sure & many will remember them but there is one show I have been trying to get more information on for years.
Its number 2 on my list - the caveman show. I don't know the proper name of it but it did exist!!! Just can't be in my imagination. Surely? The show had real actors in it, it wasn't a cartoon or a documentary. It was like planet of the apes or something. It was on very early Saturday mornings here in Australia in the late 70's I guess. Maybe 6.30am or something?
The show was about the adventures of cavemen & women. Hunting, gathering etc. Sometimes a little scary from what I recall. Nobody I've ever spoken to about this show remembers it. A wee mystery!!!
Maybe someone out there in cyberspace might remember more about it?
